Do you remember about few basic skin care steps?
STEP 1 – Double Cleanse
The first step — or actually 2 steps in 1 — in skin care routine is the double cleanse, which includes:
• washing your face with an oil-based cleanser. Oil-based cleanser is meant to be applied to dry skin first. It’s formulated to help remove makeup, sunscreen, night cosmetics and other oil-based impurities that may be stay on your face,
• after rinsing off with warm water, continue with a water-based cleanser to help get rid of other dirt.
STEP 2 – Toner
This is a step in skin care routine that you absolutely cannot skip. Toners are prepared for removing any leftover cleanser residue that may be left after washing your face.
While refreshing, your skin is getting ready to receive moisturizing products to be used in the remaining steps.
Don’t get toners confused with ASTRINGENTS, as toners are the opposite of astringents and can be very hydrating to the skin and gentle enough to use on all skin types.
Astringents are more likely to contain more alcohol than toners and also ingredients against to acne, oily and mixed skin i.e. salicylic acid.
STEP 3 – Exfoliate
Exfoliating (peeling) can help you in several ways:
• removing dry or dull skin, dead skin cells,
• rebuilding dead skin cells,
• increasing blood circulation and brightening,
• preventing clogged pores,
• leaving skin cleaner and more smooth.
You should incorporate STEP 3 into your skin care routine once or twice a week using either a mechanical exfoliator, like or a chemical exfoliator formula.
STEP 4 – Face Mask
Cosmetics stores or drugstores offer you a wide variety of products, you can choose what suits your needs best! Eaither you are in rush – face mask in sheet – or a product consuming more time – face mask in cream / gel. However both are effective in the removal process and leave the skin more refreshed than ever. All masks contain moisturizing, hydrating, nurturing essence or serums that care of every skin concern from fine lines to large pores.
STEP 5 – Serum
Instead of using one serum and applying it all over your face, you can use several products as spot treatments and apply it just to the areas that can get benefit from it:
- on problematic acne area apply a serum which can help in reducing the appearance,
- on the large pores areas use the product to shrink them,
- on the dry part of your cheeks — to replenish moisture.
…and leave the skin feeling hydrated and cared, ready for following steps.
STEP 6 – Eye Cream
Using an eye cream can offer a powerful dose of benefits to the skin around your eyes including:
• reducing the look of under-eye bags,
• reducing dark circles,
• reducing fine lines.
STEP 7 – Moisturizer
Moisturizing is not only the most important step in the evening skin routine, but should be considered as one of the essential during your morning routine – especially if you live in a dryer climate – a cream makes your skin protected from pollution, wind and dry air. Over the night a moisturizer helps to keep all products you have applied before (i.e. serum, oil) on your skin and allows to do their best job while you’re sleeping.
You can apply a thick night cream which helps revive skin, treat acne blemishes and fight early signs of skin aging. On the other hand: a light day cream would be a perfect solution to protect your skin against harmful environmental impact.
STEP 8 – Sunscreen
Going out under a beach umbrella isn’t going to protect you from many harmful factors. Applying sunscreen to your skin may just be the most important step in your morning routine. On all of your body. Skipping sunscreen can result in everything from sunburns to discoloration from the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. And what the most important: it leaves your skin more prone to developing skin cancer! It is absolutely important to wear sunscreen every single morning, including days when the sun appears to be nowhere in sight. It’s still there and still secretly hurting you.
What’s also important: there are a lot of brands of sunscreen on the shelves. And almost half of those don’t even meet the SPF level stated on the bottle. SPF level shown on the bottle it’s a must.
